Technical Details
The Compact S uses x-ray fluoroscopy as the primary means of stone localization. The x-ray is mounted on an integrated c-arm allowing visualization in two axis: c-c and p-a. Stones can be visualized and treated in-situ in all parts of the urinary tract from the bladder to the kidney. The Compact S utilizes an electromagnetic shock wave source. This allows a wide therapeutic power range (allowing power to be gradually increased) with far less noise for the patient and treating staff. Furthermore, the electromagnetic shock wave source (EMSE) requires little maintenance and has no disposable parts.
