Mobile Service
The mobile service allows smaller hospitals that have fewer patients to enjoy the benefits of a state-of-the-art lithotripter available on demand. The lithotripter is transported in a small truck, and the equipment is unloaded at each site and installed in a suitable room. The equipment can be moved easily by hand up small inclines or in standard bed elevators. Set-up time is typically 30 minutes from arrival. Treatment results and patient safety are not compromised using the mobile service. This is because the lithotripter is actually set-up inside the hospital before each use and treatments are not performed inside the transporter. The equipment is set-up and operated by GLS staff. GLS (Philippines) employs a different approach to mobile lithotripsy. In the Philippines, we use a large vehicle to transport the lithotripter. This air conditioned vehicle is a completely self-contained lithotripsy clinic. The equipment list for the mobile clinic is up to the standard of the best hospitals and allows ESWL to performed conveniently and with maximum patient safety:
The interior of the clinic represents a breakthrough in mobile medical design. The interior is decorated to provide a comfortable and soothing treatment environment. Features such as advanced sound deadening, a high fidelity CD sound system and subdued lighting help to calm the patient during the ESWL procedure.
